The Southwest Coordinator of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Chief Sanya Atofarati, says Nigerians will determine the outcome of the 2027 general election, rather than political parties or individual politicians.
Speaking today on the maiden edition of the “First Take”, a current affairs program that runs across Adamimogo FM Nigeria branches(107.7FM, Ido-Ekiti, 105.1FM, Ibadan and 93.1FM, Lagos), Atofarati said APM is determined to challenge the ruling party, citing the administration of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde who is also the party’s presidential candidate as an example of the transformation it hopes to replicate at the national level.
Speaking on the APM’s broader effort to position itself as an alternative ahead of the 2027 polls, the APM chieftain dismissed the chances of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming election, saying whoever holds the party’s presidential ticket would have little political value.
On what an APM-led government would offer Nigerians, Atofarati said the party is poised at resetting the country through grassroots development, industries and job creation, improved infrastructure and a more reliable electricity supply, with the aim of ensuring that national resources deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
