The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has inaugurated its National Campaign Management Committee ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with a focus on grassroots mobilisation across the country.
The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, Lawal Daura, stated this on Tuesday in Abuja at the inauguration of the 2027 National Campaign Management Committee.
Daura said the campaign organisation was targeting Nigeria’s 103 million registered voters and would deploy a strong grassroots structure to mobilise support for the Seyi Makinde-Daura ticket.
With about 100 days to the election, Daura said Nigeria needed a comprehensive reset to address the country’s challenges.
He said the proposed reset would require reviewing and, where necessary, amending or replacing existing systems and structures.
“Therefore, the resetting is the only solution so far that can get Nigeria right. And by resetting, it means every other thing that has been configured in Nigeria needs to be looked at, amended, changed, replaced, or whatever,” Daura said.
He also warned against attempts to manipulate the 2027 election, saying the campaign organisation was prepared to protect its votes in accordance with the Electoral Act.
“For those who really want to rig, that they can pull a fast one, well, they have a surprise coming,” he said.
Daura said members of the campaign committee were selected based on their records, determination and capacity to deliver results.
“We want boldness. We want focus. We want people with resolve to succeed, people that have never allowed failure to be part of their government,” he said.
The APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, urged members of the committee to remain focused on delivering the Makinde-Daura ticket in 2027.
Dantalle acknowledged the task ahead but said it was achievable if members remained united and managed their differences effectively.
“How can we deliver the Seyi Makinde and Maman Daura into the pillars come 2027? And to also form the government in Nigeria, which is one goal. It is not an easy task, but that does not make it impossible,” he said.
