Alimosho General Hospital, Igando, has celebrated the 2026 Customer Service Week with activities aimed at appreciating patients and healthcare workers while strengthening its commitment to quality healthcare delivery and improved patient experience.
The Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr Akinyele Akinlade, commended staff for their dedication, describing them as unsung heroes whose efforts ensure patients receive the care and support they need.
Akinlade said the theme of the celebration, “The Extra Mile,” underscored the importance of healthcare professionals going beyond their routine responsibilities to meet patients’ needs and exceed their expectations.
He reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to compassionate care, patient satisfaction and continuous improvement in service delivery.
The celebration, coordinated by the Service Charter Committee, led by Matron Oluyemisi Oyinlola, in collaboration with the Quality Improvement Committee, featured visits to clinics, wards and other service points across the hospital.
During the visits, patients were appreciated for their patronage, cooperation and understanding, while being encouraged to share feedback about their experiences and expectations.
The committees noted that patient feedback was essential to identifying service gaps, addressing concerns and improving the quality of healthcare provided by the facility.
A major highlight of the celebration was a training session for front desk officers, organised by the Service Charter Committee to strengthen their skills in patient engagement, service coordination, professional conduct and effective communication.
The training emphasised empathy, courtesy and responsiveness as important elements of creating positive first impressions and ensuring a better healthcare experience for patients.
Patients welcomed the initiative and commended the hospital’s management for recognising their importance and demonstrating a commitment to improving service delivery.
The celebration reinforced Alimosho General Hospital’s commitment to a patient-centred approach to healthcare, with professionalism, accountability, empathy and continuous improvement remaining central to its operations.
The hospital also stressed that going the extra mile should extend beyond annual celebrations and remain a daily commitment to providing safe, responsive and quality healthcare to all patients.
