A businessman, Safwan Garba, and his company, GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged $2.1 million transaction involving proposed land allocations in Abuja, accusing Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of fraud.
In a petition dated December 11, 2025, and signed by their lawyer, Hamza Dantani, the petitioners alleged that Jordan claimed to have his father’s knowledge and approval to facilitate the allocation of 60 hectares of land in the FCT.
According to the petition, Jordan allegedly promised to secure 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape, assuring the businessman that he had experience facilitating land allocations and the backing of his father.
The petitioners accused him of fraud, obtaining money by false pretences, criminal misappropriation and conversion of the $2.1 million allegedly paid in connection with the proposed land allocations.
In a related development, the claimant’s lawyer reportedly alleged that Jordan collected and acknowledged a payment of $2.1 million as part payment in the transaction before subsequently changing his position.
The lawyer’s comments came as the case was adjourned to December, although the specific court, hearing date and details of the proceedings were not provided in the account.
The allegations remain claims by the petitioners and have not been established as facts in the information provided. Any response from Jordan Nyesom-Wike or other parties involved was not included in the account.
