Diplomatic Digest Marks 5th Anniversary with Lecture on Nigeria’s Foreign Policy Drive
The city of Abuja was buzzing with dignitaries, diplomats, policymakers, and stakeholders as they gathered at the Nicon Luxury Hotel to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Diplomatic Digest, a prominent publication in Nigeria’s diplomatic and policy circles.
Despite a heavy downpour just before the event began, the turnout remained impressive, with tight security arrangements and a vibrant atmosphere marking the high-level event.
Representing the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, delivered the keynote address, which set the tone for a day of insightful reflections and policy discourse.
The highlight of the celebration was a compelling anniversary lecture titled “Nigerian Technical Aid Corps and the Bola Tinubu 4D Foreign Policy: The Journey,” delivered by Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC).
The lecture examined Nigeria’s foreign policy through the lens of the Tinubu administration’s “4D” strategy —Democracy, Development, Diaspora, and Demography — and how NTAC aligns with this framework in projecting Nigeria’s soft power across Africa and beyond.
The event was chaired by Dr. Kingsley Kuku, former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan and Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, adding a layer of political gravitas to the evening.
Besides the robust conversations and elegant networking, the 5th anniversary gave room for presentation of awards to distinguished personalities.
Altogether the event was a reflection of Diplomatic Digest’s growing influence within Nigeria’s socio-political conversations.
