The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, is set to sign a Generational Inclusion Pact at the 2026 Oyo State Emerging Political Leaders Summit scheduled to hold in Ibadan.
The pact signing is expected to be a major highlight of the unveiling of the 50 Below 50 Campaign Project, which seeks to promote greater participation of younger politicians and emerging leaders in the state’s political affairs.
The summit, scheduled for August 24 and 25 at the Ibadan Civic Centre, is themed, “Bridging the Gap, Uniting Political Strength, and Mobilising Emerging Leaders for 2027.”
According to the organisers, the event will bring together emerging political leaders, party stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers, community influencers and other political actors from across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They said Senator Alli’s decision to sign the pact would underscore his commitment to youth inclusion, intergenerational collaboration and creating opportunities for emerging political leaders.
The summit is also expected to focus on political reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation and stronger coordination among members and supporters of the APC in Oyo State, while building support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The event will feature prominent political and economic figures, including the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji, who will serve as Chief Facilitator.
Adedeji is expected to speak on “Fiscal Renewal, Revenue Mobilization, and the Economic Future of Oyo State in the Context of Nigeria’s Progressive National Agenda.”
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, is expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour, while the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address.
Wike’s address will focus on “Bridging Political Divides, Building Strategic Alliances, and Mobilizing Oyo State for Progressive Victory in 2027.”
Organisers said the summit is intended to provide a platform for political engagement, strengthen relationships across generations and mobilise emerging leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
The planned pact signing by Senator Alli is therefore expected to be one of the major moments of the two-day gathering as political parties begin positioning themselves for the next electoral cycle.
