The leadership of National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has revealed that a recent meeting with former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, focused on resolving internal disagreements within the party in Kano State.

Chairman of the party, Seriake Dickson disclosed this in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday following a meeting with Kwankwaso and other senior officials of the party at his residence.

According to the former Bayelsa State governor, the discussions formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity within the NDC and reconcile party stakeholders in Kano with Kwankwaso, whom he described as the party’s leader in the state and its vice-presidential candidate.

He noted that the NDC was fast emerging as a formidable opposition platform and acknowledged that differences were inevitable in any expanding political movement. However, he stressed that such challenges were being addressed through consultation, dialogue and reconciliation.

Expressing optimism over the outcome of the meeting, Dickson said the engagement with Kwankwaso would deepen cooperation among members and enhance the party’s chances of electoral success.

He also described the Kwankwasiyya Movement and the Obidient Movement as vital support structures for the party, disclosing that plans were underway to formally integrate their members into the NDC’s activities across the country in a structured manner.

Dickson recalled that he had earlier hosted a delegation from the Obidient Movement and assured them of their inclusion in party affairs, adding that he had also requested the list of coordinators of the Kwankwasiyya Movement to facilitate a similar integration process nationwide.
