The Federal Government is set to launch the African Global Festival Nigeria, known as AGLOFEST, in October 2026, with the initiative expected to strengthen Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy, economic cooperation and international engagement.
The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr Ibrahim Kana, stated this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
Kana said the festival would provide an international platform for cultural exchange, investment and economic cooperation, bringing together government leaders, investors, businesses, cultural institutions, creative industry professionals, entrepreneurs and development partners.
He conveyed the approval of President Bola Tinubu to the partners through a formal letter.
According to him, AGLOFEST will feature three major components; the Black Diaspora Economic Forum, the Black Diaspora Cultural Presentation and the Renewed Global Hope and Peace Concert.
He said the economic forum would focus on trade, investment and business partnerships, while the cultural presentation would celebrate Africa’s heritage and creative expressions.
The October launch is expected to mark a significant step in the Federal Government’s efforts to promote cultural diplomacy, attract economic partnerships and deepen international relations.
