The Oyo State government Confirmed that A devastating fire destroyed four vehicles and a container at a mechanic workshop on Togunde Street, Akingbade area, along Old Ife Road in Egbeda Local Government yesterday.
In a statement the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande, in Ibadan attributed the cause of the fire to sparks from an engine compartment.
He explained that no life was lost, but four vehicles and one container were destroyed in the fire.
Akinwande urged members of the public to remain conscious of fire safety at all times.
He also stressed the importance of installing fire extinguishers in workshops and vehicles to help contain fire incidents at an early stage.
