The Independent National Electoral Commission in Oyo State will commence the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voters’ Cards across all 33 INEC Local Government Area offices in the state from Friday, October 9, 2026, ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
In a media release issued by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof Adeniran Rahmon Tella, the distribution will hold from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The exercise is meant for newly registered voters, those who recently transferred their polling units from one place to another, and those whose PVCs were lost or damaged during the last Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
Tella said the collection of the PVCs would be strictly personal and not by proxy, adding that the commission had made adequate arrangements to ensure the exercise remained transparent, orderly and peaceful in collaboration with security agents across the state.
The REC urged the general public and key stakeholders in the electioneering process to cooperate with the commission by ensuring prompt collection of the newly printed cards.
He noted that the commission still has a considerable number of uncollected old PVCs from the 2023 general election in the state.
