Football stakeholders in Ise/Orun have commended the Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, for his consistent contributions to sports development in the state, particularly the now-prestigious Prof Akin Oyebode Cup, which has reached its 5th edition.
Mr. Idowu Hazeez, Team Coordinator for Ise/Orun LFC, spoke on behalf of the team’s leadership while receiving Mr. Pelumi Abiara, head of the organising committee, at the St. John’s Primary School ground in Ise Ekiti on Thursday
Hazeez expressed delight that the 5th edition is being held just months after the 4th, describing it as a welcome development that will further enhance player growth in a highly competitive environment.
He noted that Ise/Orun LFC feels profoundly honoured to be the first team visited during the organising committee’s tour. The local government, he revealed, will field a male team, with players and officials eagerly anticipating the competition, especially with the new innovations introduced this year.
Earlier, Abiara assured the Ise/Orun team that the organising committee would leave no stone unturned in providing the best Ekiti talents with a platform to shine, in line with the vision set by the sponsor.
He disclosed that Hon. Oyebode has approved transport subsidies for all participating teams and urged sons and daughters of Ise/Orun across the world to rally behind and support the promising squad that will represent the local government.
