The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reopened its National Identification Number (NIN) alignment service, giving eligible candidates another opportunity to correct discrepancies between their examination records and data held by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
The board announced the reopening on Friday through its official X account, @jamb_hq, warning that the opportunity was a one-time exercise and that approval of applications was not automatic.
JAMB advised candidates to correct errors in their NIN records through NIMC before applying for alignment with their JAMB biodata.
It also urged applicants to review their details carefully and select all necessary corrections in a single submission to avoid errors that could affect their applications.
According to the board, the application procedure, eligible fields for correction and verification requirements are explained in a special episode of its JAMB Explained video guide released alongside the announcement.
The board cautioned candidates against submitting incomplete information and advised them to rely only on official JAMB communication channels for guidance.

The reopening is part of efforts to improve the accuracy and consistency of candidates’ personal records used in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.
JAMB urged candidates to ensure that corrections made to their NIMC records had been fully updated before proceeding with the alignment process.
