Former governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran-JANDOR, has officially purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressives Congress to contest the Lagos State governorship election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, the move reflects JANDOR’s commitment to the party’s internal democratic process and his support for its adoption of direct primaries for the selection of candidates for elective offices.
He expressed confidence that the direct primary system would deepen participation, strengthen internal democracy, and give party members a greater sense of ownership in the emergence of candidates.
JANDOR also reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC at both national and state levels, noting that he holds them in high regard for their roles in shaping the party’s direction.
While appreciating party leaders and stakeholders who have endorsed his ambition, he also acknowledged the right of others to support different aspirants, describing such diversity as part of a healthy democratic process within the party.
The aspirant further expressed gratitude to members of the JAGABAN–JANDOR 2027 Movement and his supporters across Lagos State for their financial and moral contributions toward the purchase of his nomination forms.
He assured party members and Lagos residents that his ambition is driven by a commitment to unity, inclusiveness, and improved governance under the platform of the APC.
His declaration follows endorsement of deputy governor, Obafemi Hamzat by governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the GAC, a move some stakeholders described as inconsequential and undemocratic.
