The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticised the Federal Government over insecurity and unemployment, saying any government that fails to protect lives and provide jobs for its citizens is irresponsible.
Kwankwaso made the remarks on Friday in Jos, Plateau State, at an event organised by the Middle Belt Youth Council for the Obi-Kwankwaso campaign team.
He lamented the collapse of factories and industries across the country, saying many of the facilities that previously provided jobs were no longer operational.
The NDC candidate also condemned the persistent killings of Nigerians by bandits, Boko Haram insurgents and during communal clashes, saying the victims deserved the same concern and protection as every other citizen.
He called for leadership that would protect lives and property without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity or region.
Kwankwaso maintained that protecting lives and property was a constitutional responsibility, adding that any government unable to fulfil that duty should not be returned to power.
