The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has intensified its public awareness campaign ahead of the commencement of parking enforcement across the state.
As part of the campaign, LASPA will hold an awareness roadshow in Ikorodu on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to educate businesses, vehicle owners and other stakeholders on their parking obligations.
LASPA General Manager, Adebisi Adelabu, said the enforcement exercise, initially scheduled to begin earlier, was shifted to the end of September to allow for wider public sensitisation and engagement.
She said voluntary compliance remains the Authority’s preferred approach, adding that demand notices are issued to defaulters and queries addressed before enforcement action is taken.
Adelabu urged business owners and corporate organisations to pay their parking dues through LASPA’s official channels, warning motorists and businesses against making cash payments to unauthorised collectors.
She said enforcement measures could include vehicle clamping or towing and, where necessary, the closure of defaulting businesses in accordance with due legal process.
LASPA will also collaborate with the Police during enforcement operations, while officers will be equipped with body cameras to document activities and enhance safety and accountability.
