In the opening fixture, Ikole suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Gbonyin (Aiyekire), who edged through with a disciplined performance. The tempo only intensified as Irepodun/Ifelodun outscored Ekiti East 5-3 in a pulsating goal-fest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Defending champions Oye reaffirmed their title credentials with a convincing 4-2 victory over Ise/Orun, showcasing their attacking depth and championship pedigree.
However, the standout clash of the round came between Ado and Ikere in a six-goal thriller. Both sides settled for a 3-3 draw in regulation time, before Ado held their nerve to claim a 2-1 win on penalties in a tense shootout.
With the semi-final lineup now confirmed are Oye, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Gbonyin, and Ado, setting the stage for even fiercer battles as the competition heads into its decisive phase, with each side eyeing a place in the final of one of Ekiti State’s most celebrated grassroots football tournaments.
