Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, has endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, describing him as a grassroots-oriented leader with the capacity to deliver inclusive development and good governance.
The endorsement came during the grand finale of the PDP’s governorship campaign in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the June 20 election.
According to a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by her media aide, Mike Idoko, the lawmaker spent several days touring communities across the state to rally support for the party’s candidate.
Speaking to party supporters and members of the Ebira community at the campaign event, Akpoti-Uduaghan said Oluyede possessed the experience, vision and commitment needed to address the challenges facing Ekiti and improve the living conditions of residents.
“Dr. Oluwole Oluyede is a leader who understands the needs of the people. He is not disconnected from the grassroots. He has listened to the cries of market women, youths, civil servants and community leaders across the state,” she said.
The senator noted that the PDP flag bearer had consistently shown empathy towards ordinary citizens and demonstrated the qualities required to provide purposeful leadership.
She further described Oluyede as a unifying figure capable of bridging ethnic, religious and social differences while ensuring that all residents enjoy equal opportunities and access to development.
