The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said that the decision on what action to take against Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate or KWAM 1, rests with the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police.
NCAA spokesman Michael Achimugu made this known in an interview with Saturday Beats on Friday, explaining that petitions regarding the incident have been forwarded to both offices for further action.
The development follows KWAM1’s public apology over his controversial encounter with ValueJet Airline officials at the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
In a statement personally signed and released on Friday, the veteran musician described the incident as “unfortunate” and said it was never his intention to disrupt operations or violate aviation protocols.
Recall that the altercation, captured in a video that went viral on Wednesday, showed KWAM1 in what appeared to be an attempt to obstruct a plane’s take-off, sparking widespread debate on social media.
