Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reported to the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
The Udinese shot-stopper was the last player to arrive, with the camp having opened on Sunday and 23 players reporting on Monday for the team’s first training session.
His late arrival drew attention after footage surfaced on social media on Wednesday morning showing him conversing with American rapper Cardi B at Milan Fashion Week, where he also modelled Udinese’s third kit. The video sparked criticism from Nigerian fans and journalists online, particularly as his international teammates were already preparing for Friday’s clash against Madagascar.
It was not the first time Okoye had been spotted with the rapper; the two were also seen together at Paris Fashion Week during the summer.
There was no official communication from the Super Eagles regarding his expected arrival time before he eventually joined the camp.
