The Ekiti State Government has warned contractors handling public projects in the state against compromising standards, stressing that substandard jobs will not be tolerated.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, Mr Olubunmi Talabi, made the assertion during an inspection tour of ongoing renovation and construction works at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Emure- Ise -Orun-Ekiti.
Talabi, who led a team of professionals on the tour, said the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji remained committed to ensuring quality, durability and timely completion of public projects across the state.
“The government will not compromise standards in the execution of projects,” he said, noting that quality infrastructure was essential to the safety and wellbeing of residents.
According to him, properly executed projects would enhance the aesthetic appeal of the state, stimulate economic activity, safeguard lives and property, and ensure value for money.
The ongoing works at the camp include renovation and construction of accommodation for corps members, administrative offices, lecture and multipurpose halls, dining facilities, kitchen blocks, staff quarters, roads, drainage systems, water supply, electricity infrastructure, solar lighting, recreational areas and other amenities required for effective orientation and training.
