The Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, has stepped down from pastoral duties following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and a growing public outcry.
The cleric publicly apologized last Sunday to actress Doris Ogala during a church service, kneeling at the pulpit to admit to past “mistakes” and ask for forgiveness. This came after Ogala had made viral accusations of betrayal, emotional manipulation, and a broken promise of marriage following a long-term relationship.
Okafor’s decision to step aside follows his recent marriage to a new bride, identified as Pearl, on December 16, 2025. The ceremony was attended by several prominent clerics, despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Ogala’s allegations.
The church has yet to announce interim leadership or provide further details on the duration or conditions of Okafor’s leave.
