The Super Falcons, are expected to begin arriving in camp in Ikenne, Ogun State, ahead of their international friendly matches against Senegal Women’s National Football Team.
The friendlies form part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to hold in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.
The squad for the double-header was announced on Sunday by the Nigeria Football Federation, with head coach Justine Madugu naming a 23-player list that blends experience and emerging talent.
Leading the squad are captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and veteran striker Asisat Oshoala.
Midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene retained her place in the team after making a successful return during the recent friendlies against Cameroon following a three-year absence from the national side.
Also included are experienced forwards Francisca Ordega and Gift Monday.
Belarus-based forward Blessing Nkor returns to the squad for the first time since featuring against France in November 2024, while Turkey-based midfielder Kafayat Shittu earned another call-up after impressive performances for her club.
Defender Rofiat Imuran also makes a return to the national team, having not featured for the Super Falcons since the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Other players named in the squad include goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, defender Sikiratu Isah, defender Tosin Demehin, midfielders Halimatu Ayinde and Toni Payne, as well as forwards Folashade Ijamilusi and Joy Omewa.
The trio of Christy Ucheibe, Shukurat Oladipo and Rinsola Babajide, who recently celebrated title successes with their respective clubs, were also included in the squad.
Nigeria will host Senegal in the first friendly on June 5, before both teams meet again on June 8 at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne.
The matches are expected to provide valuable preparation for both sides ahead of the continental championship.
