Global pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have officially married in a lavish, celebrity-filled ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, marking the culmination of one of the world’s most followed celebrity romances.
The couple exchanged vows on Friday in a ceremony officiated by actor and comedian Adam Sandler, according to Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine. The wedding attracted an array of Hollywood stars, athletes and close friends, transforming the iconic venue into the epicentre of global entertainment.
Breaking with tradition, the newlyweds opted against having bridesmaids and groomsmen. Instead, Swift’s younger brother, Austin Swift, served as her “man of honour,” while retired NFL player Jason Kelce stood beside his younger brother as best man.
Both Swift and Kelce wore custom Christian Dior couture created by the fashion house’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson. Swift completed her bridal look with Cartier jewellery and Christian Louboutin shoes, while Kelce also wore Dior and Louboutin for the occasion.
Madison Square Garden became the centre of attention as giant digital displays outside the venue lit up with the message “JUST&T MARRIED” a playful tribute combining the initials of the newlyweds. Security around the venue was exceptionally tight as hundreds of guests arrived for what many described as one of the biggest celebrity weddings in recent years.
Among those in attendance were actors Hugh Grant and Jason Sudeikis, singer Benson Boone, model Gigi Hadid and several other high-profile figures from the worlds of entertainment, fashion and sport.
Swift and Kelce’s relationship first captured global attention in 2023 after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end publicly expressed interest in meeting the singer. Their romance quickly blossomed into one of the most talked-about celebrity relationships, culminating in their engagement in 2025 before Friday’s highly anticipated wedding.
The ceremony brought months of speculation to an end, with fans and media closely following preparations for what many had dubbed “America’s royal wedding.” The celebration also underscored New York City’s enduring status as a global stage for major cultural events, as one of music’s biggest stars and one of American football’s most recognisable names officially began a new chapter together.
