President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian filmmakers Damilola Osikoya of Switch Visual Production and Nora Awolowo of Rixel Studios for setting a Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a film screening.
The record was achieved during the screening of Black Market in Lagos on September 26, 2026.
In his congratulatory message, Tinubu commended the filmmakers for their creativity, enterprise and ambition, describing the achievement as further evidence of the talent driving Nigeria’s growing creative industry.

The President said Nigeria’s creative economy was creating businesses, generating employment and opening new markets for Nigerian talent.
He noted that the country’s film, music, fashion and art industries continue to take Nigeria’s stories and culture to audiences around the world.
According to Tinubu, the achievement recorded by Black Market demonstrates what can be accomplished when Nigerian creativity is combined with enterprise and the capacity to operate at scale.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating more opportunities for young Nigerians to turn their talents into sustainable livelihoods and globally competitive businesses.
Tinubu also commended everyone involved in the production and screening of Black Market, wishing the filmmakers and the entire team greater success in their future endeavours.
