United States President Donald Trump remains in excellent health but has been advised to increase physical activity and continue efforts to lose weight, according to a medical report released following his routine health examination.
The assessment was contained in a memo issued by Trump’s physician, Sean Barbabella, after the 79-year-old president underwent a medical check-up at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington on Tuesday.
According to the report, Trump continues to demonstrate strong cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological health and remains fully capable of carrying out the responsibilities of his office.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function,” Barbabella stated.
The physician, however, noted that preventive health recommendations were provided, including dietary adjustments, increased physical activity, continued weight reduction and the use of a low-dose aspirin regimen.
The three-page report also indicated that Trump is currently taking three medications, including two prescribed for cholesterol management and aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
Standing at 6 feet 3 inches (191 centimetres), the president reportedly weighs 238 pounds (108 kilograms), an increase from the 224 pounds (101.6 kilograms) recorded during his last comprehensive medical examination in April 2025.
Addressing the bruising, the report explained that an examination of Trump’s hands revealed minor soft tissue irritation consistent with frequent handshaking, combined with the effects of aspirin use.
The White House report concluded that the president is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
