Vice-President Kashim Shettima is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the second United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS), that will end tomorrow, July 29.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice-President), Stanley Nkwocha confirmed that Shettima will participate in high-level dialogues, including a critical session on transforming the global coffee value chain.
The Vice-President is also expected to engage in ministerial roundtables focused on public finance, trade, and responsible investment. His itinerary includes a series of side events such as field trips, networking sessions, and knowledge-sharing platforms designed to foster global cooperation on sustainable agriculture and food systems.
Organised in collaboration with the United Nations and the governments of Ethiopia and Italy, the summit which began on Sunday, July 27, will allow world leaders and development partners to review progress since the inaugural 2021 summit and accelerate global efforts toward resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems.
