Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused opposition parties of refusing to acknowledge President Bola Tinubu’s achievements in their quest to take over power.
Wike said the opposition would continue to claim the President had done nothing, regardless of his administration’s performance.
He argued that political differences should not prevent people from acknowledging good governance, regardless of party affiliation.
The FCT Minister cited the Bauchi State governor’s acknowledgement of Tinubu’s performance, saying it was unfair to deny the President’s achievements simply because one belonged to an opposition party.
“The way the opposition is going now is a bit of a concern to us… Whether you have done anything to the satisfaction of Nigerians, the opposition will say, ‘Look, they [the ruling party] have not done anything. We want to take over power.’
For us, we think the president [Tinubu] has done well; it’s just that the opposition wants to take over power.”
