Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, have rejected claims by former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose alleging a plot to remove the traditional ruler.
In separate reactions on Sunday in Ibadan, both the state government and the monarch described the allegation as baseless.
Fayose had earlier claimed on his X account that Makinde was planning to dethrone Ladoja, alleging that the process would begin with an official query over the monarch’s absence at a recent coronation of high chiefs in Ibadanland.
Responding, the media aide to the Olubadan, Adeola Oloko, dismissed the claim, stating that there was no disagreement between the governor and the traditional ruler.
He described the allegation as unfounded, adding that there was no indication of any move to remove the Olubadan.
