The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Lateef Fagbemi SAN has reportedly refused to intervene in the appeal for the bail of Justice Chidebere, popularly known as Justice Crack.
The defendant, who was arrested by the Nigerian Army over the weekend, was accused of publishing a viral video and accompanying statements through his X handle, alleging inadequate feeding of Nigerian soldiers.
Reacting to his arrest and detention, human right activist Omoyele Sowore called the attorney general to wade into the matter and secure the release of the defendant, but the AGF politely declined.

Sowore, who expressed disappointment at the shape of the trail, noted that if the AGF refrained from intervening until Wednesday, youths would storm the federal capital territory.
“If everything is not properly addressed by Wednesday, we will shut down Abuja. This is not just about Justice Crack, it’s about the fact that the authorities have continued to take us for granted.”
