Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed the development in a post highlighting the agency’s intervention activities across the state.
According to the commissioner, LAWMA’s Intervention Team carried out waste clearance and environmental sanitation exercises at multiple locations, including Awoyaya, Ologunfe Bus Stop along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, NAFDAC Spot, the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Cele Bus Stop, Ijanikin, Leventis, Outer Marina, Iyana Ipaja, Isheri Olofin/Ira, Ketu-Ejinrin General Hospital, and the Ojueleba Under-bridge, among other areas.
The cleanup exercise is aimed at tackling waste accumulation, improving environmental conditions, and promoting public health across affected communities.
Wahab noted that the intervention forms part of the state’s broader commitment to ensuring cleaner surroundings and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
He reiterated that LAWMA remains committed to sustaining its waste management and environmental sanitation efforts across Lagos while urging residents to adopt proper waste disposal habits.
The commissioner also called on Lagosians to support government initiatives by complying with approved waste management practices, stressing that environmental sustainability requires collective responsibility.
