Tension erupted at Ata Oja Ward 4, Unit 2 in Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State as voters complained of disorderliness and failure to prioritise elderly voters during the ongoing governorship election.
Some voters at the polling unit expressed frustration over the conduct of the voting exercise, alleging that elderly persons were not being given priority as required under electoral guidelines.
The situation reportedly created confusion at the polling unit, with voters calling on electoral officials to restore order and ensure that the voting process is conducted in line with established electoral procedures.
The complaints also centred on the management of the queue and the treatment of voters who required priority consideration.
Security personnel were on ground at the polling unit as voting continued, amid efforts to maintain order and prevent the situation from escalating.
