Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Saturday voiced confidence in his chances of winning the ongoing governorship election, while expressing optimism that the exercise would be conducted peacefully across the state.
The governor spoke after casting his ballot at Polling Unit 9, Ward 2, Sagba Agbogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area.
Adeleke arrived at the polling unit at about 8:32 a.m. alongside a crowd of supporters. He completed the accreditation process around 8:35 a.m. before voting.
Addressing journalists after voting, the governor said he was confident of securing another term in office.
He called on eligible voters across Osun to turn out in large numbers to participate in the election and ensure their votes count by staying engaged throughout the process.
Adeleke noted that the governorship poll presents residents of the state with the opportunity to decide who will lead Osun over the next four years.
