Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has congratulated Dr. Obafemi Hamzat on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate for Lagos State.
Ambode described Hamzat’s emergence as well-deserved, attributing it to his years of loyalty, consistency, and public service within the party and government.
He urged party members to remain united and focused, stressing that internal cohesion would be critical to securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
Ambode also reaffirmed his support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as the party’s leader whose vision remains central to Nigeria’s progress.
According to him, the current moment calls for discipline and collective commitment from all stakeholders within the APC in Lagos State.
“This is a call to stay united, disciplined, and focused on our collective progress,” he noted, adding that the party must remain aligned with the leadership direction of President Tinubu.
He further emphasized that the priority of party members should be to consolidate support, secure electoral victory, and advance development in Lagos State and across Nigeria.
The endorsement comes as the APC continues internal consultations and positioning ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State.
