The media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to invite Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho for questioning over his claims regarding the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a post on X on Thursday, Ibe said that if Igboho has credible information about those behind the kidnappings, security agencies should engage him to assist ongoing efforts to secure the victims’ release.
His remarks followed claims by Igboho, who reportedly told members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) that he knows politicians allegedly involved in the abductions and threatened to name them if the situation persists.
Sunday Igboho claims he asked the government to give him chance to face the bandits terrorizing Oyo state and some politicians are backing them.

Reacting, Ibe urged authorities to explore all available leads that could aid the safe rescue of the abducted students and teachers.
He also questioned the response of the President Bola Tinubu administration to a separate abduction incident involving more than 50 schoolchildren in Mussa, Borno State, last month, accusing the government of remaining silent on the matter.
Ibe called for equal attention to all kidnapping cases across the country, asking when victims in Borno State would receive the same urgency and public focus as those in Oyo State.
