The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, says democracy will continue to thrive in Nigeria, irrespective of attempts by some desperate politicians to cripple the system.
Atiku, who is a presidential aspirant in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the statement today shortly after casting his vote at the Ajiya Ward Polling Unit in Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State.
Speaking after voting, Atiku said the turnout reflected strong commitment by party members to internal democratic processes.

“The large turnout of voters is a clear indication of how party members are willing to participate in the ADC internal democratic processes. I have no doubt that democracy has come to stay,” he said.
Voting commenced shortly after Atiku arrived at the venue from Abuja, alongside other presidential aspirants including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatudeen.
The Returning Officer for the election, Umar Jada, announced that Ajiya Ward had unanimously endorsed Atiku Abubakar. A total of 3,220 votes were reportedly cast in his favour, with Atiku leading the voting process at the polling unit.
Meanwhile, former minister, Rotimi Amaechi has urged members of the party to vote for pedigree and integrity over ethnic affiliations.
Speaking at the polling unit in Ubima, Amaechi hailed the turnout and commended the conduct, describing it as orderly.
The ADC presidential primary was conducted simultaneously across 8,809 wards in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with party members turning out in large numbers.
