Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and endorsed Kingsley “OK” Chinda as his preferred candidate for the Rivers State governorship.
Fubara also announced that he has joined the Rainbow Coalition, a political alliance led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, describing the move as a return to his political roots.
The governor made the announcement on Wednesday during the groundbreaking and foundation-laying ceremony of the Rivien Medical Industry project in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Addressing supporters at the event, Fubara urged them to align with his political direction by joining the Rainbow Coalition.
“I am supporting President Tinubu for the presidency and OK Chinda to be the next governor of Rivers State.
I am part of the Rainbow Coalition, and I’m back to my political family,” the governor said.
The endorsement marks a significant political development in Rivers State, where Fubara and Wike were previously locked in a prolonged political dispute that reshaped the state’s political landscape.
Fubara’s declaration signals his support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition while reaffirming his alliance with Wike’s political structure ahead of future electoral contests.
