Presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has announced that he will not attend the announcement of the presidential primary results of the African Democratic Congress, citing concerns over alleged widespread vote rigging during the exercise.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hayatu-Deen said reports of electoral irregularities from across the country, including incidents he personally observed, had raised serious concerns about the credibility of the process.

“I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today.

I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps,” he stated.

Hayatu-Deen participated in the party’s presidential primary in Jare, Borno State.

The aspirant is contesting for the ADC presidential ticket alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.

His comments come amid heightened political attention surrounding the party’s primary election and the emerging alignments ahead of the next general election.

Hayatu-Deen did not provide details of the specific incidents observed but indicated that consultations were ongoing regarding his next line of action.

I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today. I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps.
