The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has warned motorists against fraudulent text messages and malicious links claiming that recipients have committed traffic offences.
The ministry said the messages are fraudulent attempts designed to deceive motorists and steal sensitive personal and banking information.
In an advisory on its X handle, the ministry urged motorists not to click on unverified links, share personal information or make payments through third-party platforms.
The ministry also cautioned motorists against platforms offering discounts on traffic penalties stating that the Lagos State does not offer discounts on traffic penalties across any of its platforms, insisting that all official statutory fines are strictly fixed.
It advised motorists to verify the authenticity of traffic tickets and check their vehicle status only through the state’s approved platforms at payvis.ng and tms.lagosstate.gov.ng
