Lagos state government says three individuals who attacked officials of the State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Corps in Ikeja, have been arraigned and convicted by a Magistrate Court sitting at Bolade.
According to a post by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the defendants were charged with assault after the incident involving enforcement officers carrying out their duties in the area.
Wahab said all three defendants pleaded guilty to the charge and were subsequently convicted by the court.
The first and third defendants, identified as Farouk Olori and Taoreed Alimi, were sentenced to one week imprisonment each.
The second defendant, Ogundare Oluwatobiloba, who was identified by the court based on available evidence, received a one-year prison sentence.
Wahab reiterated the government’s stance against attacks on enforcement officers and obstruction of environmental law enforcement duties.
