The Lagos State University (LASU) has welcomed Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as its 10th Substantive Vice-Chancellor, following her assumption of office on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Badejo assumes the position as the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the university, marking the commencement of a new administration focused on building on the achievements of previous administrations and advancing the institution’s growth.
Her appointment is expected to provide fresh direction in key areas of the university’s mandate, including teaching, research, innovation and community service.
The university community comprising the Management, Senate, staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders welcomed the new Vice-Chancellor and expressed anticipation for a new phase of institutional development under her leadership.
As the 10th Substantive Vice-Chancellor, Badejo is expected to bring her experience and vision to the administration of the university while pursuing initiatives aimed at strengthening academic excellence, innovation and institutional advancement.
