Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Pastor Akin Alamu, as a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
Alamu, who previously served as a member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, is among a number of new appointments approved by the governor.
In a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the appointments were said to be part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance across various sectors.
The governor also appointed Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing and a member of the Board of the Oyo State Housing Corporation.
Sakariya Mohammed Taofik was appointed Special Adviser on Rural Development.
Other appointments approved by the governor include:
Yinka Oladoyinbo – Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation
Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa – Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation
Dapo Falade – Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation
Hon. Seun Adelore – Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Matters
Hon. Gbenga Adewusi, former Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council – Executive Assistant, Sports Commission
Ogundele Quadri – Special Assistant on Urban Development
Elder Olawale Olugbenga, JP – Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism
Ibrahim Abayomi – Executive Assistant, Works
The appointments were conveyed in letters signed by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, PhD.
Governor Makinde charged the newly appointed officials to approach their responsibilities with dedication, commitment and loyalty to the people and government of Oyo State. The appointments take immediate effect.
