Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has relieved the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Toyin Balogun, of her appointment and immediately named Faosat Sanni as her replacement.
The development was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan.
According to the statement, the appointment is part of a minor cabinet reshuffle approved by the governor.
“The governor has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw the redeployment of Faosat Sanni to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion. Sanni takes over from Toyin Balogun, who has been relieved of her appointment.
“The new redeployment takes immediate effect,” the statement read.
Sanni previously served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion between 2019 and 2023 before she was redeployed to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2023. She was most recently serving as Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative before her latest redeployment.
The latest cabinet adjustment comes a day after Governor Makinde forwarded the name of the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Olabode Ladipo, to the Oyo State House of Assembly for confirmation as a commissioner.
