Premier League clubs competing in European competitions will enter the Carabao Cup at the third-round stage, with several high-profile ties already confirmed.
Manchester United have been drawn against Premier League rivals Brighton while defending champions Manchester City will host Norwich City
Leeds United could face Chelsea in the third round if the London club overcome Luton Town in their second-round tie on Thursday.
The draw has also produced a meeting between Fleetwood Town, the only fourth-tier club remaining in the competition, and Championship side Sheffield United.
The nine Premier League teams competing in Europe this season will all enter the Carabao Cup in the third round.
They are Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Sunderland.
Their delayed entry is designed to help accommodate the demands of European competition, particularly the opening rounds of the Champions League and Europa League.
Third-round matches will therefore be played across the weeks beginning Monday, September 7, and Monday, September 14.
