Vice President Kashim Shettima has said Nigeria possesses the resources and potential to rank among the world’s richest nations, stressing that the country’s wealth remains largely untapped.
Speaking at an event, Shettima said there are parts of the country with enormous economic potential capable of generating significant prosperity if properly harnessed.
“In this great nation of ours, we have no business being poor.
We have the potential to be one of the richest countries in the world.
There are certain parts of this country where money can grow; you can plant money and harvest tremendous money resources,” he said.

The Vice President also defended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style, saying the President does not engage in blaming past administrations for the nation’s challenges.
According to Shettima, President Tinubu believes in taking full responsibility for the decisions and policies of his administration.
“He is not someone who is fond of the blame game.
He is not someone who is fond of the blame game. For the past three years, the easiest way to anger President Tinubu is to criticise Muhammadu Buhari. No, the buck stops at his desk and he is ready to take responsibility for whatever comes out of his actions.
