The Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Oba Ilori Faboro, has urged residents to maintain peace and order in the town ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The monarch made the call on Sunday at his palace while addressing stakeholders, including high chiefs, family heads, community leaders, religious and ethnic representatives, youth leaders and other residents.
Oba Faboro said residents have the right to support their preferred political parties or candidates, stressing that political differences should not lead to clashes or violence. He noted that Ido-Ekiti has enjoyed relative peace in recent years and urged residents not to allow political interests to disrupt the town’s stability.
The monarch also urged residents to promptly report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
