An aspirant on the platform of the Accord Party, Hon. Wale Ajani, has officially joined the race for the Oyo Central Senatorial seat after obtaining his expression of interest form ahead of the next election cycle.
Speaking with journalists shortly after completing the process, Ajani said his ambition is rooted in a commitment to delivering effective and people-focused representation for constituents across the district. He maintained that the Accord Party remains a formidable political force in Oyo State, capable of mounting a strong challenge in the coming elections.
The aspirant also called for unity within party ranks, stressing that cohesion and collective purpose would be crucial to electoral success. He urged the party leadership to uphold transparency and fairness in the candidate selection process, noting that credibility would strengthen public confidence in the party.
Reacting to Ajani’s declaration, the Oyo State Chairman of the Accord Party, Prince Kolade Ojo, represented by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Idris Oriyomi, commended the aspirant for what he described as a bold and timely move.
He said Ajani’s entry into the race reflects growing trust in the party’s structure and vision, assuring members that the leadership is committed to providing a level playing field for all aspirants.
The chairman further pledged that the party would conduct a transparent and credible primary process in line with democratic principles.
