The Oyo State Police Command has called on residents to build greater confidence in security agencies and support ongoing efforts to combat crime in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, made the appeal while reacting to a viral video showing the rescue of the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.
Ayanlade urged members of the public to appreciate the sacrifices of police officers who, according to him, risk their lives in the line of duty to ensure the safety of citizens.
“People should begin to trust the system; people should begin to appreciate the efforts of the operatives. People should begin to trust the system and cooperate with the law enforcement operatives who are putting their lives on the line,” he said.
He added that effective policing depends heavily on public cooperation, stressing that timely and credible information from residents remains crucial in responding to security threats.
The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Oyo State.
