Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 36-year-old man, identified as Muyideen Olatunbosun, during an intelligence-led anti-crime patrol in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebesi, the suspect was arrested while operatives were conducting patrols around Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu following intelligence received by the Command.
A search conducted on the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of a rubber-made pistol, an axe, suspected criminal charms and an illicit substance popularly known as “Ice”.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with an ongoing investigation, while efforts are being made to apprehend other alleged members of his cult group.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information.
Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against cultism and other forms of criminality across the state.
He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the police through the Command’s emergency lines.
