The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.
Adeyemi, alongside two other co-defendants, faces an eight-count charge bordering on forgery, impersonation, and related offences.
### The Charges and Fictitious Operations
The fresh charge sheet, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki.
According to court documents, Adeyemi allegedly operated the fraudulent agency from the second floor of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase III, in Abuja prior to his arrest.
The development follows a previous directive from President Bola Tinubu, who ordered the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a thorough 30-day investigation into the activities of the unauthorized council.
Recall that the scheduled arraignment follows an earlier postponement of the case. When the matter first came up for plea on June 16, Adeyemi was reported to be indisposed. Consequently, the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Umar, adjourned the matter to allow the defendants to take their plea.
The prosecution has lined up several high-profile witnesses to testify in the case. According to the court filings, those listed include:
Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede and Ituah Sylvester
The defendants are expected to enter their pleas during Tuesday’s scheduled appearance before the Federal High Court.
