President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Akwa Ibom and Rivers States on Friday and Saturday for the inauguration of completed projects and APC political rallies.
The President will begin the two-state visit in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he is expected to commission several projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration before attending an APC rally.
In a statement issued on Thursday, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, listed the projects to be inaugurated as the new International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport.
Other projects include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which links communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, connecting Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President is also expected to commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Ahead of the visit, Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day to allow residents to welcome the President and participate in activities lined up for the occasion.
Tinubu is expected to travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday for another APC rally.
According to Onanuga, the Rivers rally will be the President’s third personal appearance at a campaign event since he formally launched his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
He said the visits would provide an opportunity for Tinubu to engage with political stakeholders, party members and supporters, while encouraging unity, political stability and a shared commitment to national development.
The planned visits come weeks after the President indicated that he would not personally attend campaign events in every state, citing his responsibilities as head of government.

Speaking at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, Tinubu said his official duties, the country’s financial obligations and the need to attract investors would limit his participation in campaign activities across the country.
His appearance at the Kaduna rally marked his first personal participation in a campaign event since the formal launch of his re-election campaign.
